Best Sleep Trackers 2026
Track your sleep stages, HRV, and recovery with wearables and smart devices. We rate each tracker on accuracy, comfort, and whether the data actually helps you sleep better.
Note: Sleep trackers measure, they don't improve sleep directly. Use them to identify patterns, then act on the data with environmental and behavioral changes.

Understanding Sleep Metrics
HRV (Heart Rate Variability)
Measures variation in time between heartbeats. Higher HRV generally indicates better recovery and lower stress. Track trends over weeks, not daily fluctuations.
Sleep Stages
Light, deep (slow-wave), and REM sleep. Deep sleep is restorative for body; REM for brain and memory. Most trackers are 70-80% accurate vs. clinical polysomnography.
Temperature Trends
Body temperature drops during sleep. Deviations can indicate illness, ovulation (for women), or poor sleep environment. Best measured from finger (Oura) or skin (WHOOP).
SpO2 (Blood Oxygen)
Measures blood oxygen saturation. Repeated dips during sleep can indicate sleep apnea. Consumer devices are screening tools, not diagnostic—see a doctor for concerns.
